The wagon that started it all…
The Wagon Yard is a small, family-run business based in the historic county of East Sussex. Founded by Mark and Emma, The Wagon Yard is built on a shared love of wagons and model railways.
Over ten years ago, lifelong railway enthusiast Mark encouraged Emma to attend her very first model railway exhibition. It was there that she spotted a humble plank wagon named Kobo. What began as curiosity quickly grew into a passion resulting in a collection of over 600 N gauge private owner wagons. In 2019, that passion became The Wagon Yard.
Today, our aim is simple: to share our enthusiasm for model railways by offering fellow modellers and collectors a varied and ever-growing range of wagons, rolling stock, and railway accessories.
We’re proud to have commissioned a number of limited-edition wagons in collaboration with Peco and Dapol, and in 2021 we took the exciting next step by producing our own custom-made wagons. These include carefully researched historic liveries that reflect the rich industrial history of Britains railways including coal merchants, breweries and branchline railways. Through to distinctive one-off creations fuelled by a wide variety of inspirations including historical figures or locations, beloved tv & film characters or simply the good old British sense of humour.
Whatever the inspiration every wagon we produce reflects our passion for model railways and the desire to share that joy with others.
